Natural and Sustainable Beauty: The Benefits of Solid Cosmetics for You
Share
In recent years, we have seen how the trend for solid cosmetics has grown rapidly, and it’s no coincidence. These products are not only excellent for your skin and hair, but they also have a positive impact on the environment. Today, we’ll tell you everything you need to know about solid cosmetics and how they can change your beauty routine in a sustainable way.
What Are Solid Cosmetics?
Solid cosmetics are beauty products in their purest form, without water, and are presented in a solid state (such as bars or tablets). This includes solid shampoo, solid conditioner, soaps, deodorants, and even creams.
Why Are They Beneficial for Our Body and Hair:
1. Natural Ingredients and Pure Care: Solid cosmetics are typically made with natural ingredients such as vegetable oils, butters, clays, and herbs. This means they are gentler on your skin and hair because they don’t contain harsh chemicals that can cause reactions or dryness. For example, a solid shampoo with coconut oil hydrates and nourishes your scalp without weighing it down.
2. No Preservatives (Sometimes), No Water.
Solid cosmetics, especially those that do not contain water, generally do not require preservatives. However, many of us prefer to add natural preservatives to solid shampoos or conditioners for safety reasons, as we cannot control how the customer will use the product. For example, they might leave it in a humid place, or into direct contact with water for long time. For this reason, we prefer to add a minimal amount of natural preservative.
One such preservative is Geogard 221, which is derived from natural sources. It is effective in maintaining the freshness of the product without compromising its purity or safety. Geogard 221 is much gentler on your skin and hair compared to synthetic preservatives, ensuring that you enjoy a product that is both effective and safe to use.
3. Better for All Skin and Hair Types
Solid cosmetics are versatile and can be adapted to all skin and hair types. If you have sensitive skin, you can opt for a solid soap made with oatmeal and olive oil, perfect for soothing and moisturizing. For hair, a solid shampoo with coconut oil can leave it soft and shiny without the synthetic ingredients that often dry or damage.
4. Long-lasting
Solid products typically last much longer than liquids. A solid shampoo bar can last for several weeks because most of them are used more efficiently.
Patience for Amazing Results
Your hair may need some time to adjust to new solid products, as it transitions from chemical-based formulas to natural ones. However, once it adapts, you’ll see incredible results. With consistent use, your hair will feel healthier, softer, and more vibrant—naturally!
